Alzheimers Arts Trail 2026: Art, community + a cause worth supporting

There’s something pretty special about seeing Marlborough’s creative community come together, especially when it’s in support of such an important local cause. This August and September, the Alzheimers Arts Trail 2026 is bringing local artists, businesses and the wider community together to raise funds for Alzheimers Marlborough and the vital work they do throughout our region.

We’re incredibly proud to be playing a small part.

The Silent Art Auction at Wine + Food Experience Marlborough

If you’ve visited us recently, you may have noticed our upstairs lobby looking a little more colourful than usual. We’re currently hosting the Alzheimers Marlborough Silent Art Auction, with an incredible collection of donated artworks from artists across the region on display throughout our building.

The artworks are available to view and bid on, with proceeds helping support the services Alzheimers Marlborough provides for people living with dementia mate wareware, their whānau and carers.

The collection will remain on display at Wine + Food Experience Marlborough until 12 September, giving you plenty of time to pop in, have a wander and perhaps find a piece you’d love to take home.

And while you’re here? Stay for a wine tasting, something to eat, or simply enjoy a glass while you browse.

Discover another side of marlborough

Marlborough might be known around the world for its wine, but there’s a thriving creative community here too. The wider Alzheimers Arts Trail is a wonderful opportunity to discover it, with more than 50 local artists involved across a range of studios, galleries and creative spaces throughout the region.

The self-drive trail takes place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, giving locals and visitors the freedom to create their own route, meet some of the artists behind the work and discover spaces they might never normally have the opportunity to visit.

If you’re looking for something different to do in Marlborough, it’s a great way to spend a spring weekend while supporting a cause that has a very real impact within our community.

The Gala Evening

The Silent Art Auction culminates in a special Gala Evening on Saturday 12 September, hosted by our neighbours at Oak & Ivy. The evening will bring together art, food, wine and entertainment, with canapés, Hunter’s Wines, an auction and special guest Michael Hurst.

It’s set to be a fantastic evening celebrating the artists who have contributed their work and, most importantly, raising further funds and awareness for Alzheimers Marlborough.

Come and see the art for yourself

You don’t need to wait until the Arts Trail weekend to get involved. The Silent Art Auction is on display now at Wine + Food Experience Marlborough, right in the heart of Blenheim. Pop in, browse the collection, place a bid on your favourite and support an incredible local cause while discovering some of the artistic talent we have right here in Marlborough.
