Getting the team together doesn’t always need to mean another meeting around the boardroom table. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting a team building workshop here at Wine + Food Experience Marlborough, and it was a great reminder of just how many different ways our spaces can be used.
Yes, we do wine. Yes, we do food. But we also do meetings, workshops, presentations, team days, private functions, networking events and celebrations - sometimes all in the same day.
A different kind of team day
There’s something to be said for getting everyone out of their usual environment. A change of scenery can completely shift the feeling of a workshop or team building day. Conversations happen differently, people engage differently and, perhaps most importantly, nobody is checking their emails!
Our recent team building workshop was exactly that: an opportunity for a local team to step away from the everyday and spend some dedicated time together.
And once the work is done? Its onto the wine and the food, of course!
One of the things we love most about hosting corporate events in Blenheim is being able to make the day feel like more than just another meeting. You can start with a planning session or workshop, break for lunch, finish the afternoon with a presentation and then close the laptops and move straight into team drinks. Or turn the final part of the day into an experience of its own - a hosted Marlborough wine tasting, wine flights, food and wine pairings, shared platters around the table, live music, a long lunch, even something hands on and creative like a sip and paint.
We’re big believers that the best team building happens after the official team building has finished.

Every group is different, so we’re not particularly interested in forcing every event into the same package. We will work with you to create something thats totally tailored around what your team actually needs. That could mean:
A morning workshop followed by lunch
A full day planning session with catering
Team building activities and wine experiences
Client presentations or networking events
Private wine tastings
Corporate lunches and dinners
Staff celebrations and milestone events
Product launches and presentations
End of year and Christmas functions
Large scale corporate events (like really large!)
It can be structured and professional, completely social, or a bit of both.. Its completely up to you and what you would like for the day.
Spaces that can change with you
Throughtout our whole venue, we can offer a range of spaces that can be adapted depending on the size and style of your event. From smaller groups wanting privacy for a meeting or workshop, through to large events of 300+ guests. There are indoor and outdoor spaces, our sheltered Fireside Room, areas for private tastings and meetings, screens for presentations or company branding, and plenty of flexibility when it comes to layouts. It also means you don’t necessarily need to move your group between multiple venues throughout the day.
You can meet here, eat here, have a wine here and then celebrate here. So much easier than moving people throughout the town for ‘business’ and ‘social’
Food, wine & everything in between
Naturally, food and wine can be a pretty important part of the equation (and rightfully so!) We can work with you on food and beverage options to suit your event, from coffee and catering during a workshop to shared platters, lunches, dinners and drinks afterwards. There’s also the opportunity to build some of the region itself into your event. Our wine dispensers bring together a huge selection of Marlborough wines in one place, making it easy to incorporate wine flights, tastings or a more interactive wine experience into the day.
For businesses hosting colleagues or clients from outside Marlborough, it’s a particularly good way to give them a taste of the region without having to leave central Blenheim.
